Job description
Baylis Community Media CIC is looking for a talented digital journalist to join our award-winning team.
Based in Berkshire, we publish the Maidenhead Advertiser and Slough & Windsor Express titles and are one of the few truly independent newspaper publishers left in the country.
As part of our ambitious strategy for the future, we are looking for an innovative digital reporter who will be one of the driving forces behind our online growth.
This job is not just about generating clicks – we’re looking for a journalist who understands their audience and knows how to provide loyal readers with the quality content they want, when they want to read it.
As a digital journalist, you will be tasked with finding and writing exclusive stories to grow our online subscriber base and will keep our readers informed by covering the latest breaking news as it happens.
Using tools such as Google Analytics, Chartbeat and Crowdtangle, you will seek out the stories that keep our readers coming back for more and reach underserved audiences in our community.
You will play a key role in our newsletter and social media strategy, and you will also have the chance to produce audio and video content for our websites.
The role would suit a journalist with a NCTJ pre-entry certificate, while 100wpm shorthand is an advantage.
The successful candidate must have a car and a clean driving licence.
We offer an attractive employment package, along with flexible arrangements for hybrid working. The successful applicant will be provided with a laptop and the equipment they need for working from home.
Please apply by 9am on Monday, February 27.
