Location

Think Ahead works flexibly, enabling staff to work from home frequently. Our offices are based in Chancery Lane and staff are required to come in roughly 1-2 times per week.

ASAP dependent on successful candidate’s notice period

About the role

To help people with mental health problems to flourish, the workforce who support them must also be flourishing. Our External Relations team manages all digital, social, media, marketing, policy, research and influencing to make this ambition a reality.

You will be engaging and working alongside a range of internal and external stakeholders: such as social workers, central government, academics, to research and policy groups, to NHS trusts and local authorities, to people with lived experience of mental health, as well as digital agencies, freelancers, and content creators.

The role focusses on digital communications: this is where most of our team’s work and effort is concentrated and therefore this role plays a pivotal role in the success of the team.

Think Ahead is at an exciting time in its development. We are launching a new strategy to ensure we are having the most impact on the mental health workforce and people who use mental health services. How we communicate digitally is a key part of delivering that strategy.

We are looking for someone creative and passionate to come join the team at this exciting time in the charity’s development. We are a small and supportive team, and there are plenty of opportunities to learn and develop your skillset.

Job description

This is not an exhaustive list but gives you an insight into the type of work you may do:

  • Write copy for email marketing and external newsletters.
  • Manage our Mailchimp account and analytics.
  • Write copy and create content for our social channels and website in support of ongoing profile raising for our charity as well as recruitment drives for our flagship programme.
  • Support the External Relations Manager in digital advertising across Meta, Google, and Spotify.
  • Support the External Relations Manager on digital reporting and data analysis.
  • Work with our social media consultant on content planning.
  • Draft reactive comment in response to relevant current affairs, sector news and political announcements (for social media use mainly).
  • To engage with latest campaigns and news on social media, and to keep internal colleagues informed of those campaigns.
  • Support other teams in their use of digital platforms to engage with our key stakeholders (e.g. Slack).
  • Work with our Policy Manager and External Relations to keep up to date with policy campaigns and narrative.
  • Set up and manage content libraries (images, video, stats, graphics).

Person specification

Ideally, the successful candidate will have experience of:

  • Website management (Wordpress, HTML)
  • Copywriting (for social, web, email).
  • Google analytics and social tracking.
  • Digital advertising campaigns.
  • Content creation and planning.
  • Basic graphic/design skills (Canva, Adobe, PowerPoint).
  • Creative approach to problems.
  • Audience-first approach.
  • Naturally interested in social media and digital marketing/advertising.
  • Able to spot a relevant and interesting story.
