We are currently seeking to recruit a Health Care Support Worker to join our Outpatient Service. Outpatients is a dynamic, diverse environment and plays an important role in the delivery of patient care across the NHS Board area. You must demonstrate a commitment to supporting the ongoing development of the service. You will have experience working within a health caring environment/role and the ability to work under pressure to deliver safe and effective care. Candidates must be able to contribute to the effective management of resources including supplies & equipment. Share responsibility for key aspects of housekeeping, stock control & participate in Health & safety audits within the department.
Effective written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team are essential. Ability to undertake, record and report patient physical observations and have the ability to observe changes in patient’s physical/psychological health. Ability to perform a range of tests eg urinalysis, blood pressure, Pregnancy testing, Bladder scanning, blood glucose monitoring and wound observation.
An SVQ 2 in Healthcare or working towards and IT skills are essential as responsibility to input patient information into electronic records is required.
There may be a requirement to work flexibly to support the service and, if necessary, you will be expected to engage in multi-site working within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde in order to ensure the provision of the service. This post requires PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland Check.
