Since 1990 our ambition has never wavered. From humble beginnings, our vision and drive has seen us venture into new markets with confidence and stay ahead of market trends. Our mission is to help businesses of all sizes adapt to the future and take advantage of the opportunities that change brings. Sustainability is at the core of our offering. With our leading e-mobility solutions, we’re committed to guiding businesses through the energy transition, building solutions for a more sustainable, connected future.

This is where you come in. We are on a journey of growth. We pride ourselves on being at the forefront of technology innovation and we invite you along on this journey.

The role …

The role of DevOps Engineer is really important to us.

You’ll be instrumental in supporting the deployment, configuration, scaling and monitoring of our application portfolio. AWS is our cloud provider of choice (we’re an enterprise partner), and you’ll work regularly with leading CI, IaC and Containerisation tools.

Your ideas are important to us. You’ll bring energy and innovation to the team, helping us to push forward as a tech-driven business.

We recognise that flexibility is important, so this role is available on a flexible working model, with time split between home and our impressive Crewe head office.

What would your day to day look like?

The work that you’ll get involved in includes:

  • Build & Deployment automation
  • Infrastructure scaling
  • Application configuration
  • Migrating applications to HA configurations
  • Database deployment
  • Load testing and capacity planning
  • Application monitoring
  • Incident investigation

What do we expect of you?

We’re hiring at various levels, but we are looking for you to have at least 2 years’ commercial experience in a dedicated Devops Engineer role.

You’ll have a strong working knowledge of AWS, and ideally be AWS certified.

In addition, your knowledge and experience should include some (or all) of the following:

  • Automating application deployment and configuration management
  • Continuous Integration tools (e.g. Gitlab, Bamboo)
  • Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g. Terraform, AWS CDK)
  • Database server maintenance (e.g. Aurora, Cassandra, Elasticache, Postgres, Redshift)
  • Knowledge of the Java ecosystem
  • Linux system administration
  • Familiarity with Python application deployment
  • Scripting (e.g. Bash, Python)
  • Containerisation tools (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)

What can you expect of us?

We have ambitious plans, and our dedicated tech function will be one of the driving forces behind our growth.

Joining us as a DevOps Engineer will put you at the forefront of our cloud and automation journey. For you that means interesting work and plenty of ongoing opportunity for career progression.

You can expect:

  • A friendly culture that mirrors our proposition to our customers.
  • A fast-growing organisation that defines itself as being agile and innovative.
  • A drive for continuous improvement, which you will be empowered to get behind from day one.
  • A commitment to building a working environment that values inclusivity, innovation, agility, and drive.
  • An accessible and approachable management team.
  • A modern purpose-built head office in Crewe, complete with onsite gym, canteen, games rooms, and coffee bar style break out areas.

And of course, you will be compensated competitively, with a good range of core benefits including 25 days holiday, pension, life assurance, and more.
