Job description
Our client is looking for a talented Design Engineer to join their business. In return they are offering a salary of up to £45,000, hybrid working, and occasional international travel.
As a leader in their sector, they have continuous development projects, and are looking for an engineer who can manage customer design projects from inception to completion.
The Job:
This role can be split into categories of your main duties:
- Engineering:
To ensure that new projects are thoroughly understood at the design brief stage, that
customer’ success criteria and requirements are clear and that all designs meet
customer expectations.
- Product Development:
End to end ownership of the product development cycle up to handover, including
costings in the early stages up to final design lock as per the NPI process.
- Project Design:
To review materials and manufacturing processes as well as supplier capability to
ensure products are developed in a lean and cost-effective way.
- BoM generation, Document management, Technical file creation.
The Person:
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Proficient in the use of Solidworks is essential with experience of AutoCad,
- Ability to liaise with and drive suppliers in the development of new product
- Competent computer skills – Outlook, Excel, Word
- Reverse engineering methodologies
- Experience of sheet metal working with relevant industry experience
- Strong knowledge of drawing standards.
