We are looking for a Menswear Designer to join a lovely client who are a well established supplier to several large retailers. They are looking for a commercial trend led multi product Designer who has a strong background in Menswear.
In this role, you must have a great eye for trends, excellent CAD skills and be able to drive product development with a commercial eye for newness.
You will be joining a small but fast growing team in the UK, with factories and a broader team in Sri Lanka. Good collaboration and team work are needed to work on showroom presentations and prepare and follow up from client meetings as well as working with the remote teams.
This is a Leicester based role with good opportunities for hybrid working. This role would suit and experienced designer or an ambitious Junior looking for the next step.
Main duties will include:

• Create and develop product designs tailored to the company's customer base/ volume retailers.
• Creating on-trend, forward-thinking yet commercial menswear designs in response to briefs across jersey and wovens.
• Researching lifestyle trends and blogs, being aware of relevant influencers.
• Implementing direction and innovation for the season across fabrics and trim, print etc….
• Communicating effectively with all internal and external teams.
• Working closely with the teams in both UK and Sri Lanka
• Overseeing the development of all sampling ensuring deadlines are met.
• Working closely with the rest of the design team.

Person specification:

• Menswear experience is essential within a commercial environment, preferably supplier experience.
• Previous supplier experience or relevant retailer.
• A strong understanding of the current trends and the ability to look forward and anticipate new trends.
• Must have good CAD and illustration skills.
• Experienced and confident in presenting ideas, trends and design work.
• A hands-on can-do attitude, someone who is hard working, innovative, positive and a good team player.
