Core Responsibilities
A wonderful opportunity to deliver the best toy store experience in the world! The LEGO Retail brand is evolving and moving into the next phase of our expansion - as the new Retail Senior Design Manager, you'll bring creativity, real-world thinking and specialist store format understanding to drive this evolution and bring those ideas to life.
- Creative storyteller who can combine conceptualising & ideation with real-world retail solutions experience.
- Develop close relationships with a variety of teams to ensure store format strategy and segmentation is met with consistency & standardisation of approach.
- Take the lead on retail design, creative direction & intent, technical understanding and store-fit out deployment guidance within LEGO Retail Development.
- You need to be an all-in design thinker, familiarising yourself with the entire ecosystem of retail design – from architectural materiality & specifications, building requirement standards to signage and graphic installations.

This is a newly created role and a pivotal position within the Retail Concepts & Design team. You'll create impact across the LEGO Retail organisation and in doing so, delighting our customers around the world. This role will require a dynamic individual who is energised by creativity & passionate about retail.
As Retail Senior Design Manager, you'll be a leading voice in the retail design studio and the broader project-focused teams of operational drivers, marketeers, project managers, program managers and construction specialists.
Do you have what it takes?
- Experience designing store formats (retail concept ideation, in-store design and roll-outs) for a global retail brand - this could be in-house or with an Agency.
- A natural conceptualist with the ability to communicate through component drawing, sketching & mark-ups.
- Site experience and project coordination will be key - comfortable in manufacturing environment (joinery/shopfitting), have a working knowledge of Building Codes and Accessibility Standards and be able to interpret specifications and manufacturers cut sheets.
- Collaborate and coordinate with a variety of teammates: VPs, SVPs, marketeers, project teams, engineers, designers, consultants and contractors as needed.
- Proficient in VectorWorx, CAD Pack development, Adobe CS or related and Microsoft Office.
- Able to deliver VR digital experiences and AR/animation experiences, 3D modelling, SketchUP, AutoCAD + Cinema 4D would be beneficial.
- Willingness to travel (no more than 30 days per year).
