We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Warehouse Operative to work at our Crewe site.

Main Purpose of the Role
Work as part of the Warehouse and Stores team to process goods from delivery to despatch in a safe, accurate, timely and efficient manner to satisfy all stakeholders. Operate fork lift trucks (FLT) and reach trucks within company/legal procedures.
Responsible for ensuring products are appropriately packed and loaded onto correct delivery vehicles ready for dispatch time frames to meet customer requirements on quality and delivery. Unpack and check goods in received. Ensure all correct paperwork has been produced and aligns with products / goods. Drive FLT and reach trucks safely and efficiently to undertake role. Ensure that goods in notifications and transfers are accurately completed to maintain stock control. Issue of material / items to Shop floor supervision / operators, maintaining stock control to be achieved.

Understanding and knowledge of the products, procedures and processes within the department.
Undertake skilled operations (driving of FLT) and use of specialist IT system (Remote Warehouse) (inputting data and conducting transactions) to undertake role.
Qualifications & Education
GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English,
Numerate (and high level of arithmetic skills)
IT literate
Fork lift truck, Reach truck licences essential
Experience & Proven Ability Required
Previously worked within a warehouse environment.
Excellent attention to detail and high level of numeracy.
Good organizational and communication skills.
Duties & Key Responsibilities
Ensure all deliveries are unloaded (using FLT or Reach truck as appropriate) and placed into appropriate location (warehouse or stores)Responsible for checking of goods received, ensuring any defects in quality / quantity are managed appropriately
Ensure goods in paperwork is completed according to Company procedures (Goods Received Notification - GRN) )and entered accurately and timely onto IT system and GRN transfers are undertaken when moving goods from warehouse to shop floor
Receive finished goods from shop floor and place appropriately into warehouse
Following receipt from customer services department, pick orders (using FLT or Reach truck as appropriate) and prepare and pack orders ready for despatch
Load goods (using FLT or Reach truck as appropriate) and final despatch onto transport (in line with Company procedures)
Liaise via email / phone with distribution company advising on daily transactions
Utilise Company IT systems - Uniplan / Connect to locate items in warehouse (for part shipments)
Responsible for receipt and unpacking of material stock, in a timely manner, into appropriate locations in stores (main and VAS)
Responsible for picking and issuing of material, in a timely manner, from stores (main and VAS) for shop floor operators and supervisors
Accurately update IT system for material movement both in and out of stores.
Undertake stock checks in accordance with Company procedures
Ensure delivery drivers are met on arrival, are made aware of site access and safety issues during loading and unloading of vehicles
Ensure site security (at warehouse entrance during working hours) is managed ensuring no unauthorized personnel are allowed onto site
Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested
Participate in daily comm. cell meetings and work within a small team to achieve warehouse targets (cost, quality and delivery).
Embrace Unipart Way lean tools and techniques to support with day to day operations and monitoring of KPI’s
Work in a safe manner, taking reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and other people at work, following appropriate Health and Safety guidance, training and company rules and procedures as appropriate.
Undertake forklift truck driving and safety checks
Report any accidents, hazards or dangerous / unsafe behaviour to your line manager immediately.
