Design Support Analyst – Supply Chain Transformation
Flexible hybrid working from home with a base at one of our offices in: London, Coventry, or Manchester.
The Design Support Analyst is responsible for the creation of low-level systems design, transforming business and user requirements into system architectures (conceptual through to actual). This will encompass all parts of the supply chain systems landscape, across Food, General merchandise, and Clothing. The Design team will also be responsible for produce detailed process maps covering the ‘as is’ and ‘to be’, challenging the status quo to support the generation of new ways of working.
Obsessed with customers, you’ll ensure that the voice of the customer, their expectations, needs and preferences, evidenced by process maps, are at the centre of digital product design. Typically working in small multifunctional team(s) with diverse internal and external stakeholders (e.g. Category teams, tech & third party suppliers), you’ll use a variety of techniques (including customer research) to develop digital customer journey designs that delight our customers.
What you need to do
- Leadership of design of supply chain digital products, founded on the needs and expectations of the end users & customers, balanced with deliverability and the needs wider transformation programme.
- Work with stakeholders to drive through and implement new aspects of processes to improve efficiency & end-user outcomes. A strong working knowledge of process helps build credibility & achieve buy in from senior stakeholders.
- Champion the voice of the end users & customer, organising and conducting process mapping sessions to inform concepts and validate designs, finding insights through analysis of results, and bringing stakeholders on the same journey.
- Manage stakeholders and project/product teams through a user-centred design approach whilst balancing business challenges and strategic vision
- Driving adherence to customer experience and other related principles/standards in digital product design and delivery (e.g. accessibility, security, etc)
- Analysis of ‘as is’ processes to identify areas for improvement and produce recommendations / options
- Woking closely with colleagues and 3rd parties / agencies to commission and accept digital design deliverables
- Provide expert advice and guidance (based on experience and evidence) to a wide variety of stakeholders on issues related to design.
- With support, drive your own personal development.
- Responsible for the maintenance of process maps to cover all ‘as is’ and ‘to be’ processes.
What you need to know and show
- Wide range of experience as a service, UX, product or UI designer ideally for a big brand /FMCG organisations.
- Builds collaborative relationships and gains agreement from stakeholders to support ideas; grow a community focussed on process driven improvements.
- Combines working knowledge of the business to inform process improvement decisions, identify opportunities and align ways of working.
- Engages and influences others by using a wide range of communication methods and styles. Facilitates understanding and encourages communication both within own team and more broadly.
- Applies emerging trends in technological capabilities and/or work processes to current or new business conditions and pro-actively seeks opportunities to prototype these and refine before deploying more widely.
- Strong attention to detail with a desire for excellence in delivery
- The ability to practice thought leadership and to advise stakeholders on how to best realise business, brand and digital experience goals through the creation of best-in-class user experiences.
- Ability to manage multiple, changing priorities, and work with diverse personalities and complex dynamics.
