Job title: Finance Assistant
Department / Location: Feltham (Vector Park)
Hours Offered as full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Reporting to: Finance Manager
Job purpose
To assist the Finance Manager with clerical/administrative support. Including the production of payroll information, ensuring a level of process and record keeping efficiency for the finance function

Dimensions
Member of small finance team of 3 people including the Finance Manager
- Organisational headcount of 300-350
- Operates as office-based role, under the guidance of the Finance Manager. Owing to the flexible nature and requirements of the Finance Manager, this position will be subject to some standalone working, so essential to operate with a team working approach and liaise with colleagues from all areas of the business.
- Finance support to two areas of the business; AE Tuition and AE Publications.
Main responsibilities
- To assist in the smooth running of the Feltham Head Office finance team
- Assist with the preparation and input of monthly payroll services
- Maintain a secure system for cash whilst on site
- Assist with processing leavers
- To manage the Tuition Centres’ petty cash system and ensure accuracy
- Taking cash/cheque deposits to the bank
- Assist with annual project tasks
- To be proactive in the security of staff/customer information ensuring confidentiality at all times
- Work with colleagues to promote a positive behaviour system within the business
- Additional tasks as requested by Finance Manager
- Daily input of suppliers’ invoices
- Input of sales invoices
- Scanning of sales & suppliers’ invoices
- Filing of Purchase invoices, Sales invoices, Bank statements.
- Analysis and maintaining balance sheet accounts.

- To have knowledge of finance.
- Be able to work as part of an effective team
- Effective organisational skills

- High level of ICT skills – preferably Word, Excel, Windows 7 and Iris payroll software
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in preparing and entering information
- Professional telephone manner
- Ability to prioritise workload
Skills/Competencies
- To be able to demonstrate basic experience in payroll
- To have an understanding of the finance process
- To have an understanding of an administrative process

Qualifications or Training
- Demonstrate good levels of numeracy & Literacy equivalent to GCSE (A-C)
