Job description
Role Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Graduate Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team. This two-year graduate program offers valuable experience and exposure to various areas of our company, including Primary Layout, Project Management, Site Management, Electrical Engineering, and Quantity Surveying. The successful candidate will work on exciting renewable energy projects, focusing on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Substation Works and Grid Connections. This is a unique opportunity to develop technical expertise, gain practical experience, and contribute to the growth of the company.
Main Responsibilities
During the two-year program, you will be assigned to different departments for four six-month rotations, where you will actively participate in a range of tasks and projects. Your rotations could include:
Civil Engineering (at least 2 rotations):
Assisting in the design and analysis of civil structures and foundations for renewable energy projects.
- Design assurance of consultant design submissions.
- Conducting site investigations and geotechnical assessments to inform design decisions.
- Collaborating with the engineering team to ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
- Reviewing and interpreting civil engineering drawings, specifications, and documents.
- Supporting the coordination of construction activities and resolving civil engineering-related issues on-site.
- Assisting in the preparation of technical reports and feasibility studies.
Primary Layout Engineering:
- Collaborating with the design team to create primary layout designs for power infrastructure projects.
- Assisting in the preparation of engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Conducting site surveys and evaluations to ensure compliance with design specifications.
Project Management:
- Supporting project managers in the planning, coordination, and execution of renewable energy projects.
- Assisting in the development and monitoring of project schedules, budgets, and resources.
- Participating in project meetings, documenting minutes, and tracking action items.
Site Management:
- Assisting site managers in overseeing construction activities, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
- Conducting site inspections and generating reports on project progress and compliance.
- Coordinating with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth project execution.
Quantity Surveying:
- Assisting in the preparation of cost estimates, tender documents, and contracts for power infrastructure projects.
- Conducting quantity take-offs and cost analyses to support project budgeting and cost control efforts.
- Collaborating with procurement teams to evaluate supplier bids and negotiate contracts.
Once the 2 Year Training Programme has been completed, the candidate will go into a Full Time Civil Design Engineer role.

- Quantity Surveying and Cost Estimation in the Power Industry
- Communication and Collaboration Skills for Engineers
Required Competencies:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Strong interest in the power industry, with a focus on BESS, Solar, and Grid Connections.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse complex technical issues.
- Good understanding of engineering principles, construction practices, and industry regulations.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant engineering software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proactive attitude, self-motivated, and eager to learn and take on new challenges.
- Flexibility to adapt to different work environments and responsibilities during the rotation program.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites, as required.
