Job description
You will inspire and motivate your pupils to learn about different styles and forms of visual arts and to create their own artworks, developing an appreciation of aesthetic and cultural values, identities and ideas and prepare the foundations for some to go on to a career in the arts.
As a teacher of art, craft and design you are instrumental in helping your pupils value and develop their creativity and imagination, teaching them the practical skills to express themselves by creating their own art in a wide variety of forms including painting, drawing, sculpture, digital design, photography and textiles.
We have a unique opportunity for an individual to join our dedicated team, teaching across Key Stages 3-4 with some small KS2 intervention within our Atelier provision. The position also requires a passion for working with local community arts projects. You should be passionate about your subject and determined to impart knowledge, skills and understanding of the subject working collaboratively with the team and our young people, whilst exciting and engaging them in their learning. Your drive and motivation will help support the development of the department, whilst understanding the importance of developing a positive and creative culture.

We have a strong commitment to building further relationships with external arts organisations and to deliver the Arts Award.
The ability to also Textile Design is desirable but not essential. There may be future requirements for teaching Cross-MAT between the two art departments.
