We are looking to recruit a Deputy Clinical Team Manager!

You will work alongside the operational lead in the management and development of the MHST. The role will involve developing clinical structures, supervision, line management, recruitment and daily implementation of the service.

You will deputise for the operational lead when required, ensuring the delivery of high-quality evidence based treatments to the young people and families under our care. In addition to the above and with support from the operational lead, the post holder is expected to contribute in the development and implementation of a robust performance management system for the team and will be responsible for the line management, case supervision and appraisal of team colleagues and students.

Regarding clinical responsibilities, you will hold a small case load of young people who are completing a plan of care with the MHST. You will be delivering High intensity CBT within the MHST pathway, in accordance with the stepped care model.

The role will involve managing and supervising staff alongside offering mental health and CBT based interventions to improve the emotional wellbeing of children and young people. You will be experienced in assessing risk, managing safeguarding and be able to demonstrate sound experience of working with children and young people therapeutically. You will promote evidence-based approaches, keep up to date with new developments in mental health practice and prioritise safeguarding. You will be approachable, congruent, fair and supportive in your approach with the ability to make strong working relationships.

The MHST service is county wide within Oxfordshire, meaning there is an expectation to be able to travel to schools, and other clinic bases and operate remotely. Regular individual (clinical and management) and peer/team supervision is offered to support continual professional development.

In this role, you will have the following main duties:
  • Hold, proactively engage and work a caseload of young people with mild to moderate mental health needs using High Intensity CBT.
  • To complete CBT assessments and treatments for a variety of mental health symptomology.
  • Work in partnership with schools to deliver consultation, assessment of children/young people and a range of mental health interventions within school settings. This will involve direct work with children/young people as well as offering specialist consultation, signposting and advice to professional networks, including teaching staff.
  • To provide case management supervision to both qualified and trainee EMHPs within the Mental Health Support Team.
  • Support with the development of a High Intensity CBT offer within the MHST.
  • Be responsible and ensure the effective support and advice around clinical care provided within schools, especially including consideration of safeguarding and clinical risk issues.
  • Work with the whole school approach lead within the MHST to support communication with teachers and school.
  • To support the whole school approach lead with liaison with school staff as part of the process of identifying children and young people with emerging mental health needs. This may also include supporting the EMHP's in delivering parenting support, group work and psychoeducation within a school setting.
  • To support a learning and reflective culture within the team via role modelling and proactive engagement with supervision spaces.
  • Working with the Trust processes and policies to effectively manage sickness, absence, leaves and disciplinary processes.
  • To participate in Service Development, audits, evaluation and QI projects.
  • Support the operational team manager in the development of pathways within the MHST.
  • Work collaboratively across other CAMHS teams in order to support young people through CAMHS pathways.
  • To work with the clinical lead and operations lead to review and refine SOPs.
  • Support staff in the development of their clinical and leadership skills.
  • To provide 1:1 management supervision for all staff within the service.
  • To support in the delivery and planning of team audits.
  • Support in the development of lead roles and special interest groups within the MHST.
  • To deputise for the operational team manager at meetings and more broadly as required.
  • Collaborate and work with the wider CAMHS team and voluntary agencies.
