Salary Range: £88,171 - £114,606 per annum (pro rata part-time)

Tenure: Full Time Permanent

Hours: 37.5 (pro rata part-time)

We are looking to recruit a transformational and visionary Human Resources leader with the strategic and professional skills, drive and passion to take forward the role of Depute Director of Human Resources within the largest NHS Board in Scotland.

The Role

Working with our Director of Human Resources and Organisational Development you will help deliver our progressive Workforce Strategy and associated plans to drive forward the change required to ensure we strive to be a “Better Workplace”.

This post requires a highly experienced and professionally qualified individual, with a proven track record of leading and supporting change, working within an organisation with multiple staffside partners and ensuring the highest quality Human Resources support to our senior team.

We are looking for the successfully appointed candidate to bring a fresh, forward-thinking and collaborative approach to developing and driving high performance and innovative practice across our Human Resources support functions. Maintaining our ‘One HR Team’ approach and leading a team who are focussed on high quality person centred delivery of services.

This role provides a real opportunity to shape the agenda for specialist teams providing expert and highly complex Employee Relations and Medical & Dental Staffing Services as well as providing inspirational and visionary leadership support to our Heads of Human Resources engaged in the delivery of HR Business Support on behalf of our Operational and Strategic Management Teams.

The post holder will deputise for the Director of Human Resources and Organisational Development at both local and national programmes.

A key element of the post is providing direct support to the Chief Operating Officer - Acute Services leading and directing any Human Resources related matters within our largest service. This includes working particularly with our leadership team in Acute to support the delivery of patient services through ensuring we have appropriate workforce supply and maximising staff experience.

We are looking for an exceptional candidate to join us who will bring the right value set and leadership competencies expected in a person centred environment.

This role presents multiple competing demands and therefore our new Depute Director must have proven experience of working at a senior level in a Human Resources leadership role in an organisation of similar scale and complexity, whether within the NHS or wider public / private sector. Ideally we would like someone currently working at Director or Depute Director level.

Candidates for this role must be able to demonstrate extensive knowledge and expertise in Human Resources management, strategy and policy development including service improvement and sustainability, financial and capacity planning along with a proven record of implementation of organisation redesign and change.

Educated to a masters level qualification in a relevant subject (or equivalent relevant experience). Candidates must evidence current membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) -please ensure this is evidenced in the relevant section of the online application form as it is an essential criteria for shortlisting.
