Streamline Search are currently recruiting for a Depot Manager for a leading delivery & parcel company which cover across Scotland & the North of England. Due to the on-going success and profitable business wins our client requires an experienced Depot Manager to join a dynamic and growing team based in Edinburgh.
As the Operational Lead for our Edinburgh depot – you will lead the company’s operations to fulfil the requirements for one of our key clients. Reporting to the Head of Operations you will be responsible for the efficient and effective running of the depot and managing the depot sort team and self-employed drivers. You will also be significant in leading the way at the depot, through a period of transformation, as we work towards building a stronger, better operation.
Depot Manager – Position Overview
· Deliver and improve on all our key customer KPI’s and service levels, ensuring focus and improvements on a continual basis – striving for excellence of service
· Respond to customer enquiries including maintaining a daily log
· Calculate ETAs (Expected Time of Arrival) for parcel deliveries tracking and courier performance management
· Complete and interrogate daily Stats Sheet
· Help to set, achieve, and deliver on all agreed budget requirements for the depot operations
· Ensure that the Edinburgh Fleet is well managed. Engage with the Fleet department to make sure the Fleet database is up to date and appropriate vehicle maintenance is carried out as and when required
· Effective management and control of scanning processes ensuring all packages are scanned by individual drivers
· Ensure that rigorous controls are in place to deliver to exceptional standards
· Send regular Morning, Afternoon & Evening Reports to Management team, in particular timely highlighting of any issues from that morning’s sort and delivery performance throughout the day
· Manage the morning sortation to ensure packages are scanned and sorted for the day ahead
· Oversee the recruitment and management of a team of self-employed drivers
· Work with our Recruitment, Training and Fleet teams to deliver training to new drivers ensuring compliance in all areas of operation
Depot Manager – Position Requirements
· Proven experience in a senior transport operations role.
· Knowledge of the parcel / delivery industry would be highly beneficial.
· Proven experience leading and motivating a team.
· Strong organisation, prioritisation, and admin skills.
· Based within a commutable distance of Edinburgh.
Depot Manager – Position Remuneration
· Salary £35,000 - £40,000 (Dependant on experience)
· Monday – Friday 06:00am – 15:00, 1 in 2 Saturday mornings.
· 28 days holiday, including bank holidays.
