Job Title: Cleaning Manager / Depot Hygiene

Location: Larne, County Antrim, BT40 1AX

Salary: £23,036 + pension, health scheme, 33 days holiday (includes bank holidays) + once you pass your probation period you will qualify for a 10% ASDA Discount Card

An opportunity has arisen to appoint a Depot Hygiene / Cleaning Manager who will assume Cleaning Management responsibility for operational and client service delivery across a dynamic ASDA Distribution Centre.

This role of Depot Hygiene / Cleaning Manager is for an ASDA Distribution Depot in Larne, BT40 1AX.

The role is a hands-on Depot Hygiene / Cleaning Manager role where the role is full time and permanent and is 40 hours a week, 20 hours are management and 20 hours are hands on cleaning.

You will be a strong communicator with a passion for delivering exceptional levels of customer service. You will be a leader of people who can get the best of your team in a challenging and demanding environment.

Your management experience could have been gained from a number of sectors including Warehousing, Distribution, Facilities, Food Production Plants or indeed a Factory or Manufacturing environment. Cleaning experience is not essential. We are more interested in your general management skills and client management experience.

The role of Depot Hygiene Manager is:

Job Purpose:-

To provide an effective cleaning service to the ASDA Distribution centre within agreed budgetary guidelines and achieve / exceed agreed service delivery targets through the effective management of the team of cleaners and supervisors, ensuring that cleaning services are delivered in line with the company cleaning specification.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:-

  • Ensure cleaning duties are delivered as detailed in the cleaning specification

To manage the depot cleaning budget through a process of effective scheduling of colleagues to meet the needs of the ASDA business

  • Allocate cleaning priorities within the team of cleaners and monitor standards whilst adhering to the specification

Manage the performance of the cleaning team and take necessary action to manage performance in line with the company procedures

  • Actively promote and encourage open communication to monitor all cleaning key performance indicators that affect the delivery of excellent service and identify actions to resolve any issues
  • Ensure that all cleaning equipment and chemicals are kept secured and well maintained and well stocked
  • Carry out recruitment, induction and training of cleaning colleagues in accordance with company procedures

The role is a 40 hour a week contract which requires full flexibility as the service that is provided to the customer is over 7 days a week where the cleaning team operate over a 3 shift system which covers 24 hours.

  • Hours worked are flexible and do include weekend working.
  • 3 weekend days to be worked out of 8 per month
  • Majority of shifts will be 8am-4pm with some flexibility but there will be a need to carry out 1-2 night shifts every month, just so you are touching base with your night shift staff every few weeks.

Candidates must have a full and valid driving licence and their own motor vehicle.
