DEPARTMENT MANAGER

Full time Position

Reporting to

Store Director / General Manager

Key Responsibilities

STORE OPERATIONS

· To manage HR Indicators (KPIs) performance, ensuring targets are exceeded throughout the store.

· To support the general manager with the maintenance of store’s electronic Devices, as telephones, Ipads, Ipods, bluebirds, etc

· To oversee the cleaning standards inside the store ensuring they are in line with the company’s guidelines

· Monitor the uniforms’ allocation for Sales Assistants according to the company’s policy

· Monitor store’s stationary, post and travel costs in line with Company’s approved budgets.

· To overlook replenishment is done in a timely and effective manner in your department

· To make sure the stockroom of the department is organised efficiently respecting the company guidelines

· To monitor and set corrective actions when necessary, for all the following

procedures:

- Security and Shrinkage

- Cash desk management

- Administration management

- Health and Safety.

· To drive marketing initiatives and department’s sales performance based on the analysis and actions of the commercial reports and product knowledge, Including the utilization of the internal tools and platforms provided such as SINT and Ipod sales

· Hours: To manage the budget of hours in the department effectively respecting the shift pattern and work life balance project.

· Rota: To design the ideal rota to ensure you have the correct covering, taking into consideration the budget of hours provided by the HR Business Partner.

· Competitors’ awareness: To be aware of the current competitors, conduct competitor’s research, providing relevant feedback to appropriate parties such as product managers, regional managers or general manager.

· To ensure that the department is merchandised according to the company’s standards and commercial guidelines taking into consideration bestsellers, current trends and image of the brand

HR PROCESSES

· Productivity in sales/ units: To meet the budget, monitoring and taking corrective actions when necessary.

· To be responsible for all payroll processes and comply with deadlines

· To ensure that all ER processes are followed according to the company policy in managing formal and informal meetings, sicknesses and absence

· To react accordingly to the recruitment needs of the department, ensuring that a fair selection process is being followed

· To understand and reinforce the company return policy.

· To keep constant, clear, timely and effective communication with Head Office, Product Managers, Regional Managers

· Promote HR Policies and Procedures and the Code of Conduct in the store by sharing information with the team and leading by example

TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

· To actively identify members of your team with development potential and build a continuous internal succession plan

· To develop the team through performance reviews and Personal

· development plans utilizing the Leap application and monitor their progression

· To ensure that inductions and training are carried out for all new starters and current employees in the department.

· To deliver constructive feedback in a positive and honest manner, using specific examples in regards to the employee performance, setting achievable goals to support the employees’ development

· To receive constructive feedback in a positive manner, being productive towards your personal development and supporting the team

CUSTOMER SERVICE

· To ensure a high level of customer satisfaction is offered in the store.

· Motivating the team to offer a positive customer experience in the department while leading by example.

· To support customer service with product, knowledge and awareness of the new arrivals, the best sellers and fashion trends and offer alternatives with the services we provide and the technology we use in the store.

· To effectively resolve customer queries and manage conflict

HEALTH AND SAFETY

· To ensure good housekeeping is maintained throughout all areas in the store and to communicate with the senior management team in case an accident happens.

· Comply with the Company Health & Safety Policy.

· To be an ambassador in the company’s sustainability project and ensure that the company upholds and works towards finding new, innovative and economically reductive ways to stay sustainable

Experience and Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the Company, the brand and the store they are applying for.
  • Experience in managing a similar retail operation within a fast paced environment
  • Market, commercial and competitors awareness
  • Team management experience maximizing profitability and drive sales.
  • Basic knowledge of UK Employment Law
