Job description

Brynteg Dental Practice - Swansea is seeking a Dental Nurse to join our team!

We are looking for a Dental Nurse to provide comprehensive dental care to our patients. You will provide direct care to patients through the use of modern dental equipment and techniques. The goal is to help people feel comfortable with their smiles again so they can continue to improve their lives and make a difference in the world.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for examinations and general dentistry
  • Provide accurate and complete information on all aspects of dental treatment including diagnosis, treatment plans, results of lab tests etc.
  • Make the patient comfortable for examination and dentistry
  • Assist dentists in maintaining patient files and medical supplies
  • Provide emotional support and comfort to patients
  • Keep an accurate record of patient information and documentation in medical record system.
  • Assist in wound care measures, debridement, wound care treatments, debridement of abscesses, etc.
  • Maintain equipment and medical instruments
  • Keep work area clean and orderly
  • Adhere to health safety standards and safety policies
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as Dental Nurse
  • Excellent knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods (e.g. X-Ray)
  • Valid license to practice Dental Nursing; prior experience working as a Dental Assistant is a plus (but not required)
  • High school diploma; additional certification or training is an advantage
  • Strong attention to detail and patient care orientation.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written) along with interpersonal skills and a friendly & positive attitude.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Experience:

  • Dental assisting: 1 year (preferred)
  • Dental Nursing: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Valid GDC registration (preferred)
