Shepherd Neame are looking for a Demand Planner to deliver the full end-to-end demand forecasting and ordering an ensuring optimal inventory to meet customer demand.
Duties & responsibilities
- Create short, medium and long term demand forecasts for the full customer estate of Shepherd Neame, enabling measurement of performance vs. budget and clear visibility on stock across all locations
- Lead on testing and support for the implementation of a new forecast ERP suite
- Ensure accurate processing of customer demands in the system and all orders are correctly loaded
- Proactively monitor supplier orders to spot trends and spikes and activate recovery production or procurement plans where required
- Responsible for the "exceptional demand process" between commercial teams and site teams - assessment of new opportunities, capability to deliver and conduit of decisions
- Collaborate with sales channels on changing volume demands for all service or supply issues to customer and manage scenarios/contingencies to improve supply
- Challenge on all relevant decisions that could impact Supply Chain KPI’s and escalate when necessary
- Work with customer and sales teams on all NPD and delist forecasts to ensure accurate buy in and phasing out information is made available to the Production Planner
- Ensure all data affecting service or waste is promptly communicated to Production Planners, Customer Services and National Account Managers
- Support the Head of Supply Chain with the implementation and communication of an action plan where appropriate
- Facilitate the monthly forecast review meetings with all commercial teams, ensuring alignment and incorporation of all commercial / marketing intelligence
- Responsible for daily demand management and review of orders versus forecast
- Create of a daily spilt profile which best suits the specific business / category
- Key role in the management of supply risks
- Accountable for understanding all drivers of inaccuracy in forecasting metrics, specifically forecast accuracy and forecast bias and driving continuous improvement
- Responsible for ongoing maintenance of a future Forecasting model ERP for all SKU's to ensure a 'cleansed' base line forecast is available
The ideal candidate:
- Demonstrable experience in Demand Planning, preferably within a FMCG or Manufacturing environment
- Track record in delivering forecast accuracy results that drive inventory levels and service levels that meet or exceed targeted thresholds.
- Business experience in Statistics, Supply Chain management, I.T
- Management of end of life cycle and absolute inventory
- Apt in forecasting tools and comfortable modeling historical data to identify or validate trends
- Experience with SAP or an equivalent ordering platform is desirable
- IT proficient with mathematical and analytical skills
- Capable team player, though comfortable working on their own
- Deadline orientated and confident problem solver
