Planning, forecasting and allocating product are the crucial first steps in the product’s journey to our clients. It takes analytical, strategic, and results-oriented inventory management professionals to build our brand partnerships, forecast client behaviors and optimize inventory levels across our network. Operations and logistics complete the products’ journey into our clients’ hands. Your role at Sephora:

As a Demand Planner, you will ensure the item level sales forecast supports the financial sales forecast and business objectives. Reporting to the Manager, Demand Planning, you will use predictive methodologies to maximize retail sales, increase inventory turns and optimize in-stocks across Sephora stores/channels.

In addition, you will:

  • Manage forecast and history exceptions at the item/selling channel level and item/store level if needed
  • Collaborate with Merchandise Planning to ensure bottoms up forecast aligns with OTB forecast within the planning horizon
  • Own core sales forecasts and replenishment purchases
  • Perform strategic analysis, making parameter adjustments in order to increase forecast accuracy which optimizes purchases and store replenishment
  • Analyze event impacts to baseline forecasts and ensures appropriate sales lifts are applied to future events
  • Communicate shifts in SKU and/or store level trends to Merchandising and Merchandise Planning to influence Merchandising and Assortment Strategies
  • Work with Distribution Analyst on identifying item/store trends that would require forecast adjustments
  • Provide Core/Basics sellout forecast to Brand partners
  • Validate and adjust demand system seasonal profiles, as needed (holiday shifts, store animations and promotional event shifts)

  • 1 to 2 years retail demand planning experience
  • Proficiency with MS Office, with advanced Excel skills
  • Good negotiation skills; strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; able to handle multiple priorities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, often-changing environment
  • Flexible; team player


The annual base salary range for this position is $59,000.00 - $85,000.00 The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job. Individuals employed in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses.
