IT Service Delivery Manager required for a global business, based in Aberdeen.
The company:
A global player in the Energy sector, they are in a stable position given the current economic climate. With IT being centralised in Aberdeen, as well as many other key functions, the role is for an experienced IT Service Delivery Manager to help to maintain and grow the function and to ensure IT services are in the best position across the business.
On top of the traditional oil and gas production, this organisation are ahead of the curve in renewable energy also and this area is very much kicking off. As they are a fairly large business, they continue to acquire other companies and you will additionally be responsible for integrating technology effectively across these new acquisitions. Regarding working from home, the business operate a hybrid model, so can expect to be in office 2 or 3 days a week.
The role
This is a leadership level role and you will be managing a team of three, including yourself. You will be responsible for ensuring day-to-day provision of IT services to end users across a number of business functions, and locations. On top of this, the company outsource a large amount of their IT so you will have to build strong relationships with third parties. You will proactively build and maintain relationships with business stakeholders across a number of locations and ensure ITIL is followed, as well as identifying opportunities for improvement. On top of this, you will attend and contribute on reviews with IT Service Partners, all IT teams and Technology vendors.
The role is focused on managing relationships, the team reporting into you as well as the third-party vendors. It is a large and wide-ranging business, so opportunities are vast across the business to grow and progress your career.
Skills required:
** Understanding of IT operational risk management, project delivery, cost control including budgeting and service methodologies
** Knowledgeable of IT regulatory and legal requirements, including cyber security
** Awareness of IT infrastructures and architectures with knowledge of industry standards and current technology trends
** Strong third-party vendor management
** Ability to manage assets including stock, e.g. software, hardware, telephony, tapes, laptops, mobile phones, video conferencing equipment as part of resilience planning
** Able to deliver continual service improvements, leveraging automation, and enhancing data to improve decision making
** Strong knowledge of IT Operations
** Strong IT Service Management procedure (ITIL) knowledge
** Mentor, grow and help develop staff in your team (self-improvement programmes)
