Job description

37 hours per week
The Council’s Finance Department provides a range of effective, efficient and high-quality professional services with support to Members, managers, staff, services, schools and a range of external partners in the delivery of the Council’s objectives.
The department is seeking to appoint an Assistant Accountant within the Financial Control, Closing & Systems Team to undertake a range of tasks including:
  • Contributing to the closing of accounts at year-end
  • preparation of statement of accounts and budget monitoring reports for Joint Committees and Trust Funds
  • provision of services to cheque book schools including reconciliation of SIMS accounts with the Council’s core financial system (COA)
  • monitoring and providing regular updates in relation to Earmarked Reserves
