Job description
We are looking for motivated Full-time, Part-time, Delivery Drivers with Class 1, 3 or Class 5 License, to work out of our Nanaimo, BC branch who strive for high levels of customer service, teamwork, and efficiencies. We are looking for ambitious and hardworking professionals who do not mind working in warm or cold conditions. We take pride in our fill rates, accuracy, and safety records. Duties & Responsibilities:
This is not your typical driving job. 60% is spent unloading and delivering products to our customers while 40% of the shift is spent driving and operating newer model company-owned vehicles
- Operate new model automatic Tandem axle trucks with power tailgate/railgate for direct store delivery
- Loading trucks in the warehouse before departure
- Will train all delivery aspects of the Wallace & Carey processes
- Accurate counts in loading trucks each day and following set delivery routes to deliver products to retail store environments.
- Building relationships with customers on each route to help their needs.
- Safe, efficient, and productive deliveries and pickups of the product as per routes
- Perform pre and post-trip inspections
- High level of customer service
- Physically fit and can lift heavy items (up to 50lbs occasionally). Job duties entail delivery to 7-11 stores with a Dollie/2-wheeler
- Assist with the security of product and warehouse
- Will train all aspects of the Wallace & Carey processes
Available Shift(s) Offered:
- Full-Time DAYSHIFT 40 hours per week 4/10 shifts, plus required overtime starting at 4:00 am - 2:00 pm
- Part-Time available for discussion.
Requirements
- Safety shoes (Must be steel-toed boots)
- Class 3, 5 or Class 1 License
- Class 1 will be considered a strong asset and we can help Class 1 drivers gain some on-road experience in a tractor-trailer
- Recent and satisfactory driver abstract
- Class 3 - min 2 years of heavy truck driving experience preferred, but willing to train the right candidate
- A criminal Record Check will be conducted before hiring
- Valid proof of SIN required upon hire
Some Knowledge of Vancouver Island would be considered an asset as this position is for local deliveries
