Job description
Porter’s Furniture is looking for an experienced delivery driver to join our team.
The Delivery Driver is an integral part of our team responsible for operating a 1-ton truck and delivering and assembling wood furniture to our customers' homes in a timely and professional manner. In this role, you will safely transport our products from our store or storage facility to our customers' homes while providing superb customer service, assisting with problem resolution, and assembling products as required.
We are looking for a strong, experienced candidate who can work Wednesdays and Fridays weekly, and could be interested in an additional day on occasion.
Responsibilities Include:
- Physically load and unload packaged furniture (both assembled and disassembled) safely and efficiently to and from 1-ton truck
- Usage of delivery app and ability to navigate with an iphone
- Provide safe delivery of our products into the customer's home
- Act as a representative of Porter’s Furniture every step of the delivery process
- Effectively work as a team with a delivery lead, ensuring safe: delivery, loading, and assembling
- Assembling furniture (beds, chairs, tables, etc.) on-site in customers' homes
- Usage of moving tools and supplies including power drills, plastic wrap, blanket pads, straps, and dollies
- Observe safe work procedures and driving practices
Skills & Requirements:
- Class-5 drivers license (for at least 5 years) with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift at least 80lbs solo and 200lbs with a helper
- Ability to establish effective professional relationships with customers and co-workers
- High level of customer service with the ability to overcome customer concerns onsite
- Experience with physical work
- Ability to recognize vehicle maintenance needs
- Punctual, hardworking, and reliable team player with a great attitude
- Experience or knowledge of furniture assembly would be an asset.

Salary: $27.00-$35.00 per hour
