Delivery Driver & Warehouse Assistant

40 hours per week

We are looking for another member to join our Warehouse & Distribution team. You will play a critical role in getting our great beer out to our equally great customers!

You’ll be working within our Warehouse & Delivery team headed up by our Warehouse Manager. It’s a close-knit team that work tirelessly to deliver our beer, represent North Brewing Co whilst out on the road, keep the yard clean and tidy and store and organise our stock.

The tasks below outline the role expectations but are non-exhaustive.

Driving:

  • Driving in and around Leeds City Centre will be a significant aspect of your duties. As well as this you will occasionally deliver to other towns and cities in the North of England.
  • Ensure the safe and timely delivery of our products to our customers, including daily vehicle checks, route planning and the processing of delivery manifests.
  • Be presentable, enthusiastic and engaging with our Customers out on the road. You will be the face of the business and so are a key part of promoting the North Brand out on the road!
  • Liaise with the HQ Sales & Logistics Team on a regular basis to ensure that deliveries are completed as required and any issues are resolved swiftly.

Warehouse Duties:

  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the Warehouse through good stock management performance of safe working practices and supporting the wider warehouse team.
  • Contribute to Food Safety and Health & Safety performance in and around the Brewery site by engaging with Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Attention to detail, good stock management using our Brewery Management Software and good space management to ensure a continuous flow-of-goods through the business.
  • Safe operation of Forklift Trucks and other warehouse equipment.
  • Picking, packing, and loading of customer orders
  • Digital receipt and management of raw materials required for the production of Beer.
  • Assisting around the brewery as and when required - be willing to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in!

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Forklift Licence – Counterbalance or Pivot-Steer (Bendy)
  • Full, clean UK driving licence.
  • Experience of multi-drop delivery work. Confidence and competence in city driving and planning of routes is a must!
  • Experience of working in a Warehouse/Distribution environment where Health & Safety is key to everything that we do.
  • Good Manual Handling practices – as part of the delivery duties you will be required to handle kegs of beer in a safe and efficient manner.
  • A reliable and punctual approach to daily tasks. This includes taking pride in doing a great job and going above and beyond in their daily duties.
  • A willingness to step up and be responsible for the Warehouse operation during holiday periods.
  • Enthusiasm - a flexible approach and a willingness to learn whilst getting stuck into a variety of jobs.
  • A team player who is collaborative in their approach.
  • An ability to work independently without supervision, but also able to ask when help is required!
  • A relentless, uncompromising dedication to cleanliness and sanitation.
  • An understanding and appreciation of the product we are shipping!
  • A cheery disposition, a sense of humour, and an ability to provide excellent customer service.

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • An ability to drive a 7.5t vehicle.
  • Experience of working in a Food Production Facility and knowledge of Food Safety

Standards.

  • Basic computer skills.
  • Previous experience delivering beer to pubs and bars.
  • Experience in a Food Production environment.
  • A passion for Craft Beer!
