We import, manufacture and distribute a full line of brand name, professional food equipment to our clients throughout the hospitality industry, which range from restaurants, hotels, institutional kitchens, supermarkets, bakeries, etc. Along with the thousands of kitchen items we supply at our retail store and showroom, we also specialize in custom fabrication, professional installations and knife sharpening services.
The Opportunity:
Nella is currently looking for a full-time Delivery Van Driver to join our team based out of the Maple Ridge location (20172 113B Ave E, Maple Ridge, BC).
Reporting to the Branch Manager, and collaborating with the Shipping Department, you will be responsible for delivering commercial kitchen supplies to our customers. In particular, the Van Driver will load, transport and deliver boxes, ensuring prompt delivery and excellent customer service. The individual will be responsible for ensuring orders are delivered accurately, efficiently and undamaged.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Delivering goods: Your primary responsibility is to safely and efficiently transport goods from one location to another. This involves driving a company-owned vehicle, following established delivery routes or schedules, and ensuring that the goods are delivered on time and in good condition.
Loading and unloading: You will be responsible for loading and unloading goods onto your vehicle, ensuring that they are properly secured and protected during transit. This may involve using equipment such as hand trucks or dollies.
Following traffic laws and safety regulations: It is crucial to comply with all traffic laws and safety regulations while operating a vehicle. This includes obeying speed limits, using seat belts, and following any specific industry regulations or company policies related to driving and safety.
Maintaining records: You will be required to maintain accurate records of deliveries, including tracking delivery times, noting any discrepancies or damages, and obtaining signatures or other proof of delivery.
Communicating with customers and colleagues: You will need to communicate with customers or colleagues to confirm delivery details, provide updates on delivery status, and resolve any issues or complaints that may arise during the delivery process.
Vehicle maintenance: You may be responsible for performing routine vehicle inspections, checking fluid levels, and reporting any mechanical issues or damages to the appropriate personnel. You will also be responsible for keeping your vehicle clean and well-maintained.
Route planning: You may need to plan and optimize delivery routes to ensure timely and efficient deliveries, taking into account factors such as traffic, weather conditions, and delivery priorities.
Adhering to company policies: You will be required to follow company policies and procedures, including those related to safety, security, and customer service.
Troubleshooting: You may need to troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise during deliveries, such as delivery delays, route changes, or customer inquiries.
Compliance with regulatory requirements: Depending on the nature of the goods you are delivering, you may need to comply with specific regulatory requirements, such as hazardous materials handling, food safety regulations, or other industry-specific regulations.
Overall, as a delivery driver, you play a critical role in ensuring that goods are delivered safely and efficiently to their intended destinations, while adhering to traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
Qualifications & Requirements:
· Previous experience in a delivery role (1+ years required)
· The ability to lift, transport and deliver boxes to the designated area (includes using stairs)
· Is physically fit – has the ability to regularly lift 50+ lbs and possesses high physical stamina
· Knowledge and understanding of handling procedures (e.g. safe lifting methods)
· Possess a “G” Class License and clean driving abstract
· Demonstrates a positive attitude, professional appearance and is customer-service oriented (required)
· Strong communication skills – both verbal and written (required)
· Effectively able to work as an independent and as part of a team (required)
· Adaptable, flexible, and possesses proven problem-solving skills
· Flexible schedule and availability – 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM or as business needs demand (required)
