Delivery Assistant Lanark, Scotland
Job description
Duties:
- Safely and efficiently operate a delivery vehicle to transport goods to designated locations
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries
- Load and unload goods from the vehicle using appropriate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual labor
- Verify the accuracy of delivery orders and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed
- Communicate with customers to confirm delivery details and address any concerns or issues
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving and operating equipment
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance, reporting any issues to management
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the delivery vehicle and warehouse
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with route driving experience
- Ability to operate a tractor-trailer or other large delivery vehicle
- Proficiency in operating manual transmission vehicles
- Familiarity with using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment
- Strong organizational and time management skills to ensure timely deliveries
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as required
