Job description
With the business going through an exciting period of growth & development, we are currently looking for a Decision Scientist to join us on a permanent basis.
This role sits in the Decision Science team, whose task is to support the Group through advanced analytics and statistical modelling. The post holder will be required to design and delivery analytical solutions to business challenges, communicating the results in a clear and concise manner to internal stakeholders at all levels up to and including the Executive Committee.
The role is home based with occasional visits to our Manchester or London offices.
What you will be doing?
- Stakeholder Engagement: solve business challenges and identify opportunities by engaging with stakeholders to drive improved strategic decision making.
- End-to-End Analytics: design, deliver, deploy and monitor analytical solutions to business challenges and opportunities.
- Coaching: provide technical coaching to Decision Scientists within the team and have a key role in their continued development and training.
- Progressive: encourage the exploration and embedding of new technologies and methodologies to challenge the current processes and ways of thinking.
- Collaborative: work collaboratively with colleagues across the wider business to identify and develop opportunities and contribute to larger business-wide projects.
Is this you?
- Degree in a quantitative field e.g., maths, statistics, physics, computer science, economics.
- Experience of statistical modelling and advanced analytics, preferably in a commercial setting.
- Problem solver with an inquisitive and investigative mindset.
- Working knowledge of cloud-based platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure).
- Hands on programming experience (SQL, Python, R or SAS) and use of data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Strong communication skills at all levels, and the ability to communicate complex information in a simplified manner for non-technical stakeholders.
- Effective interpersonal skills and a good team player.
- Self-motivated.
- Innovative with the ability to identify and suggest new ways of working.
