Job description
As an Occupational Health & Safety Manager, you will be a leading figure on writing, updating, and looking after DE&S policy documents encompassing various areas of Occupational Health & Safety. Maintaining our Safety & Environmental Management Systems, while being a point of confident advice to aid the organisation.
Proactively driving continuous improvement towards DE&S’ safety culture with innovative and progressive ideas. Delivering effective communications to inform and engage both internal and external stakeholders on subjects in your specialism.
Responsibilities
- Lead investigations, audits, and assurance reviews, identifying key learning points to drive continuous improvement.
- Act as an escalation point for H&S advice and guidance across the business.
- Manages elements of embedding OHS legislation and regulations across DE&S.
- Act as competent advisor on fire safety management to deliver corporate compliance.
- Support the development and maintenance policy and SEMS, leading on specific aspects of policy management and maintenance.
- Oversee the maintenance and development of the appropriate Performance Indicators, dashboard reporting and risk registers.
- Manage corporate communications on key H&S messages, ensuring effective delivery.
- Supporting development and training needs where appropriate.
Person specification
To be successful with your application, you'll need to show that you meet the following essential criteria:
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Level 5/6 qualification.
- Relevant work experience across a similar role.
- Professional Membership: hold or attain during employment Graduate IOSH
In addition to the responsibilities above, the following technical competences and behaviours will be assessed at interview:
- Conducting OHSEP Audit and Assurance Activities (Practitioner)
- Conducting Risk Assessments (Practitioner)
