Day Services / Support Worker

Location: Acorns Day Services, Pembury, Aspens Charities
Hours: 20 hours per week
Hourly rate of pay: £10.42ph

Monday to Friday

11am - 3pm

Good public transport routes – close to train and bus stations / We also provide a staff transport service

Acorns is located on our main Cornford Lane site, It provides a wide range of activities for people on the autism spectrum, with a learning disability or with complex needs, supporting them to lead interesting, active and rewarding lives.

These daytime activities help people gain new, practical and social skills and provide beneficial therapy. Some people enjoy the opportunity to learn new things or express themselves creatively whilst others choose to pursue a particular interest by studying for their City & Guilds qualifications – practically based qualifications, designed for people with a learning disability and recognized by employers.

You will be a member of the staff team providing personal care to the service users who require support. Within this job role you will be required to use a hoist, as some of the service users are in wheelchairs. The job role requires some cleaning, the two wet rooms and changing the yellow and black bins, at the end of the shift. You will be required to support during service users lunch break. You will also support in one or more day service activities and support, care, advice and guidance to day service users.
