As a Senior Data Governance Officer, you will be responsible for improving data quality, mentoring owners and stewards, creating data quality metrics, facilitating data projects, and leading business glossary sessions.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring that data is accurate, complete, and consistent
- Working closely with data owners and stewards to establish best practice
- Facilitating training sessions and workshops, as well as providing ongoing feedback and support to staff to help them understand their roles
- Creating and analysing data quality metrics to measure the effectiveness of data quality efforts, identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for enhancement
- Facilitating data projects, ensuring that they align with organizational goals and objectives.
- Leading business glossary sessions, ensuring stakeholders understand key data terms and definitions
The University of Bath is embarking on the next stage of its digital journey through the creation of a Data and Insights Project. The project is part of the early enabling phase of university's Digital Transformation Programme. The project is managed through our central Strategic Projects Office, with sponsorship, leadership and core delivery from the Digital, Data and Technology team.
This is a full-time, fixed term position with an expected duration of 9 months.

About you:
Our ideal candidate will have:
- A solid understanding of data governance frameworks, good practice, policies and procedures
- Experience of information management practices including lifecycle management and audits
- Experience dealing with conflicting views and managing outcomes
- A demonstrable ability to lead and inspire team members at all levels
- Superb communication skills both verbally and written
