Job Details
To support the delivery of R&D projects and maintain the shelf life studies by carrying out testing in the laboratory.
Key responsibilities
- Compliance with approved test methods and accuracy of test results
- Stringency in following Quality System requirements, GLP and safety rules
- Minimal ‘Out Of Scope’ issues due to analyst errors
- Forming part of the core project team to ensure project progression in alignment with the agreed project plan for product design and development.
- Perform physical testing of all materials/products according to the appropriate procedures and quality systems.
- To accurately record data and file information e.g. raw data in accordance with AMS Good Laboratory Practices and R&D procedures.
- To ensure that materials, chemicals and equipment required for R&D testing are always in stock and calibrated/validated.
- To support in the development and validation of new test methods (when required).
- To generate testing protocols and reports when required.
- To manipulate data to support project decisions based on statistical rationales.
- To support in the testing of competitor samples in support of Marketing collateral.
- To attend meetings and present findings if requested.
- Ensure a good level of communication between departments (QA, R&D and Production)
- To assess workload and prioritise in conjunction with Project Leaders.
- To maintain optimum level of supplies for the laboratory.
- To maintain the R&D physical testing lab in a state of audit readiness ensuring all procedures, chemicals, risk assessments etc are current.
- Maintain and file all information accurately and thoroughly.
- To ensure Health & Safety standards are maintained in the laboratory.
- Educated to a good standard, with good verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge and/or experience of using analytical techniques for quantitative analysis.
- Knowledge of material/product defects, which may adversely affect finished product safety, efficiency or quality.
- Ability to operate relevant testing instruments.
- Ability to statistically analyse test results and present a report.
- Knowledge of some Medical Device Technologies
- Knowledge of GMP, ISO9001 and Medical Device Directive.
