Job description
Overview:
Ridge is an award-winning multidisciplinary construction consultancy, employing over 1000 people across 12 locations throughout the UK.
The Technology team at Ridge is growing its capacity to meet BI demand across the company as part of the continued growth and success. We are looking for a talented Data Warehouse Engineer to sit within the newly formed Data and Analytics team specialising in data warehouse development and database administration. You would join at an exciting time of growth in the wider company especially in the Technology team, where investment is being made to match the needs due to our expansion. The Data Warehouse Engineer will be responsible for primarily enabling dashboard creation through development of the Data Warehouse, with a secondary objective of creation of dashboards. Being at the beginning of the Data and Analytics team’s growth, your output will form a central part of the development of data usage at Ridge and will support all colleagues in changing the way data is used by all teams.
Your work will help Ridge leverage data and identify opportunities for improvement, spot trends, as well as recognise potential issues and offer solutions, providing valuable insight into the driving forces behind every aspect of the business. In addition, you will help/advise in identifying ways we can innovate new services or insight to our clients.
The role will work closely and in collaboration with the business stakeholders, users, project managers and Business Analysts, to support the company’s technology services, with a focus on supporting BI and analytics solutions through the development and management of our data warehouse, turning data into knowledge.
The role will be responsible for the development and maintenance of data warehouses & associated ELT processes within Ridge. As such, the role will be a mixture of development / project work & ongoing support tickets. The role will also play a key part in helping to define the data architecture and potential systems to support the ongoing business agenda.
In addition, the role will help support data quality, analytics and BI solutions across the wider estate alongside BI Analysts. Working closely with BA’s and in some cases directly with business stakeholders, understanding business requirements and use cases, translating these into solutions through the configuration and development of solutions to automate and integrate data and information.
