About the Role

We’re recruiting for a self-motivated individual, with a keen eye for detail, to join us as a Data Subject Associate at LV=.

You’ll become an integral part of an important team, helping to coordinate, investigate and respond to Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) and other GDPR-related enquiries (in accordance with UK regulations). You’ll navigate conflicting client demands effectively and maintain the highest degree of confidentiality and professionalism. Prior experience of using Office IT systems, offering support on a GDPR programme and processing DSARs are all desirable, but not essential, as training will be provided.

About You

Our ideal candidate will…

  • Have solid technical knowledge of the UK GDPR legislation and Data Protection Act 2018
  • Demonstrate an understanding of how to handle the DSAR process, to ensure a smooth customer experience
  • Have gained experience in handling the collation of information in line with the Data Protection Act and ICO guidelines
  • Possess superb attention to detail and accurate data entry skills
  • Always maintain confidentiality, trust and credibility
  • Be an excellent communicator, with both verbal and written communication skills
  • Have the ability to recognise vulnerable customers
  • Work independently without continuous supervision, but be a strong team player
  • Exhibit great organisational skills
  • Possess good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and Adobe
  • Be pro-active, with a can-do attitude and flexible working style.

Key Responsibilities

Your day-to-day duties will include…

  • Effectively managing your own caseload of DSAR and GDPR requests, in accordance with business policies
  • Contacting data subjects by telephone, letter or email to clarify requests
  • Liaising with relevant business areas to clearly advise what information is to be collated and processed for the DSAR
  • Redacting data in line with data protection regulations, and understanding and applying appropriate exemptions where applicable (detailing exemptions applied within your correspondence)
  • Identifying and escalating concerns or breaches to the Data Protection Office (DPO)
  • Ensuring a secure environment for transporting data requests, reducing risk of breaches through interaction with Information Security and DPGO teams
  • Managing and sorting/redirecting incoming post and emails from multiple Outlook mailboxes (complaints and DSARs administration)
  • Supporting staff in other business areas on DSAR recognition, handling and regulations
  • Supporting the Data Protection Office when requested
  • Managing key stakeholders with MI and other information
  • Building relationships with internal stakeholders (CAEXP, Sales Distribution, Product etc.)
  • Managing requests throughout the DSAR case registry ensuring the storage, arrangement and indexing of the completed DSAR work is retained in compliance with data protection legislation
  • Working within the Data Access team to be a customer and data subject security advocate.
