Responsibilities
As a Data Ops Lead, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operations of data management and analytics processes within the organization. You will be responsible for overseeing data operations, implementing data governance frameworks, and driving continuous improvement in data-related workflows. This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and a deep understanding of data operations best practices.
- Establish and maintain data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with relevant regulations and standards
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define data governance objectives, implement data classification, and enforce data access controls
- Develop and implement data quality management strategies and processes to measure, monitor, and improve data accuracy, completeness, and consistency
- Identify data quality issues, root causes, and implement corrective actions
- Define and manage the end-to-end data lifecycle, including data ingestion, storage, integration, and archival
- Implement data retention and data disposal policies in alignment with legal and business requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data scientists, business analysts, and IT teams, to understand data requirements and ensure data operations meet business needs
- Manage relationships with stakeholders, communicate effectively, and drive alignment on data-related initiatives
- Evaluate, select, and implement data management tools and infrastructure that support efficient data operations
- Continuously assess emerging technologies and industry trends to enhance data capabilities
- Lead data incident management processes, including data outages, breaches, or data-related disruptions
- Coordinate with relevant teams to mitigate risks, resolve issues, and drive root cause analysis for continuous improvement
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including data operation processes, standard operating procedures, and best practices
- Foster knowledge sharing within the team and promote a culture of continuous learning
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and leadership to a team of data operations professionals
- Set clear objectives, prioritize tasks, and promote professional growth and development
Requirements
- Extensive experience in data operations, data management, or related roles
- Strong understanding of data governance principles, data quality management, and data lifecycle management
- Proficiency in implementing data governance frameworks, data classification, and access controls
- Familiarity with data management tools and platforms (e.g., data catalog, metadata management, data integration, etc.)
- Experience with data monitoring and performance optimization techniques
- Solid understanding of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and best practices for data security and compliance
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and drive successful outcomes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Leadership abilities, with a track record of successfully leading and motivating teams
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
