Job description
*The Role* The Data scientists are the chief avenue of new techniques, approaches, and ways of doing things into our price modelling process. They are also responsible for the maintenance of the tools that are used by the price modelling teams. A Data Scientist, or Data Analyst, analyses raw data and turns it into meaningful information that companies can use to improve their business processes. Their primary duties include analysing large data sets, creating algorithms that manage and organise information and writing applications that translate data and identify patterns. The role of a data scientist in the pricing science team is a mixture of exploration and support. The role forms part of the Data Science team responsible for developing new prediction, simulation, optimisation and AI capabilities. *Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities* · Generating large databases from various sources of structured and unstructured data. · Analysing data and generating statistical information to identify trends and patterns. · Using a range of programming languages to transform big data into data sets. · Developing interactive dashboards that combine visuals with real-time data. · Working with Technologists to integrate and separate data feeds to map, produce, transform and test new scalable data sets. · Adapt working with our current tools and developments. · Collaborate with our data scientists in the maintenance of the existing tools and platforms. *Skills and Knowledge* · Ability in communicating with the team members and written and verbal presentation skills. · Ability to engage in teamwork and to collaborate with the team to produce the best outputs. · Programming skills in Python. · Knowledge on data manipulations, machine learning, advanced analytics, and statistical techniques. · Outstanding ability to break down large, sophisticated business problems into discrete, achievable steps.
