Job description
Orbis Operations seeks exceptionally qualified Data Scientists to support USSOCOM. Employees must maintain global readiness and be available to deploy on a no-notice basis to hazardous duty/combat zones. Deployments may be to a theater of operations with permissive, uncertain, or hostile environments while living in austere conditions for extended periods.
Key Skills, Knowlege, and Expertise
Education and Experience
·A Bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics, Pure Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field is required for this position.
·Minimum of 2 years’ professional work experience in a related field is required for this position.
·Master’s degree in a math related field is preferred but not required for this position.
Required Skills/Abilities
· U.S. Citizenship
·Active DoD TS/SCI clearance
·Extensive applied mathematics background and experience
·Demonstrated experience using at least one programming language
·Skilled at building data science models
·Capable of using Data Science platforms such as Jupyter Notebook or Elastic
· Ability to communicate technical findings to non-technical audiences
Desired Skills/Abilities
·Prior military experience or experience working with DoD
· Experience working within the Intelligence Community
·Demonstrated experience with coding
·Experience with data engineering
