Data Scientist

Role Purpose

If you are a Data Scientist who would relish the opportunity to be part of Greene King's digital transformation projects and utilise our new systems and fresh data to make your mark then this could be the role for you.
The vast majority of the time you will be able to work from home, with a requirement to work in our Burton office once every 1-2 months.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and implement the data science roadmap for Greene King
  • Support the digital teams with analytical and data science solutions which drive real demonstratable value
  • Own the modelling plan and roadmap from initial creation through to deployment and implementation
  • Implement predictive modelling and ML / AI solutions to step change the analytical impact within the business
  • Identify actionable and impactful insights from large and varied data sources which bring the data to life for business stakeholders
  • Mine and analyse data from company databases to drive optimisation and improvement of product development, marketing techniques and business strategies
  • Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques
  • Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets
  • Develop company A/B testing framework and test model quality
  • Coordinate with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes

About You

  • Experience in a Data Scientist role
  • Deep understanding of how to use data & insight to spot issues and opportunities to drive marketing objectives
  • Good understanding of different digital channels
  • High expertise in digital analytics tools (ideally Google Analytics and GCP)
  • High expertise in analytics software and packages (SQL, Faststats, Adobe, Salesforce etc)
  • High expertise in statistical computer languages (R, Python etc)
  • Expertise in data visualisation and story telling
  • Commercially aware and able to integrate company agenda into thinking
  • An affinity for the hospitality industry, with a strong understanding of customer & digital data
  • Excellent communicator
