The Opportunity

• Build and execute a long-term roadmap of elevating data science capabilities within Amica by researching, piloting, and introducing leading edge data technologies and products
• Effectively plan and manage analytics projects, leading small technical teams
• Define data science projects end to end including identifying opportunities, defining the problem, building proof of concepts, and deploying solutions to production
• Conduct data mining, on assorted data sources, to extract insights and generate hypotheses for model development & testing
• Perform data pre-processing, data integrity, feature selection, model selection analysis and identify opportunities to improve existing data models and techniques
• Develop machine learning models and support the management of models throughout the model lifecycle, produce reusable machine learning pipelines while building models
• Gain and maintain expert knowledge of all main data sources for the data used within the business unit and acquire ability to effectively utilize these data sources for reporting purposes
• Guide and mentor data analysts in improving data quality and availability; help them create rich interactive visualizations through data interpretation and analysis

• Balance multiple, competing priorities effectively, track documentation and deliverables in an organized manner

• Develop, monitor, and enhance analytical solutions in collaboration with business stakeholders and IT professionals

What you will bring

• 
  Master’s degree, ideally in a discipline such as
  • Business Analytics / Business Intelligence
  • Computer Science,
  • Statistics,
  • Applied Science/ Engineering,
  • or related area
• An understanding of data-driven technology with 5+ years’ experience in data and analytics environments
• Solid experience working with complex datasets and building research-based data models
• Strong foundation in supervised and unsupervised Machine Learning techniques, Feature Engineering, Classification, Clustering, Segmentation, NLP, Time Series Analysis and Demand Forecasting etc.
• Knowledge of and experience with relational databases (SQL, PostgreSQL etc.)
• Strong scripting and programming skills in Python /R
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with fluency in translating business questions into actionable requirements
• Proven team-management experience strongly preferred
• Advanced MS Office user, ability to create powerful presentations and write high-quality executive reports
• Quick learner, ability to work well in a team, and strong problem-solving skills

Strong attention to detail and an ability to multi-task on simultaneous projects under tight deadlines
