Who are we?
- The Data & Analytics team is a multi-disciplined team of about 70 colleagues sitting within the Insurance, Pensions & Investments Chief Operating Office.
- Our roles range from Data Governance and Management to Data Science as well as developing Business Insight using a variety of data platforms to provide the services for our business needs.
As a Data Platform Lead you'll help shape and transform the data processes for Digital customer journeys whilst ensuring alignment to the Group and the divisional data strategy. The ideal candidate will have an approach that empowers, encourages, and motivates a team to take ownership of the initiatives to ensure we achieve optimal data driven outcomes for the business and our customers.
Here’s where you’ll make a difference:
- Responsible for delivery of the technical data design
- Proactive stakeholder management across Group and business unit data teams to collaborate on best solutions that will deliver business requirements whilst ensuring the end state solution is suitable for Cloud technology.
- Ensure data design & decisions optimise business value and data is seen as a key enabler of success.
- Identification of data use cases to optimise data and business processes
- Responsible for delivery against the teams Objectives & Key Results
- Responsible for ensuring all decisions are made within a sound risk framework, maximising the safe delegation of authority and empowerment to individuals in the team in line with Group appetite
What skills & experience we'd like to see:
- Working understanding of strategic group data technology to ensure optimal data design solution
- Previous experience creating value within complex business and technical environments
- Experienced in developing others through leadership and coaching
- Ability to create, maintain, and communicate a long-term change and Business strategy and roadmap
- Be a brilliant relationship builder and communicator that can influence people in all directions
- Strong focus on Governance framework with and application Data policies
Additional Information:
- The location of this role is Edinburgh or Leeds and the team are currently all working hybrid with a couple of days a week in the office and the rest at home.
