Job description
We are seeking to appoint a Scientific Data Manager to join the Ludwig Institute at the Nuffield Department of Medicine, to put systems in place to deal with the current challenge of managing data and metadata.
As the Scientific data manager, you will help to develop and implement systems and procedures to store, organise, validate and manage the scientific data produced by our researchers. This is an opportunity for a self-motivated and proactive individual with a track record of successfully managing projects to shape the culture and drive change within the Ludwig Institute. You will be supported by the wider administrative team at the Ludwig, as well as by our in-house data processing team. You will work closely with computational scientists at the Ludwig, and foster links to the experimental groups that are generating the data.
It is essential that you hold a degree in a relevant subject such as biology or another quantitative science. You will have experience of Information Governance in a clinical or research setting and have previous experience with large-scale data management, preferably in a research environment. You will have excellent communication and organisation skills, and have a positive ‘can do’ attitude and service-oriented approach to interactions with others.
