JOB OVERVIEW

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Senior Manager - Data Analytics and Decision Intelligence.

Reporting to the Director, Enterprise Digital Technology, leads a team of professionals responsible for developing and championing a technological, physical and psychological environment that supports the advancement of innovative IT capabilites across OPG. This will include promoting the company's analytics and decision intelligence strategy, inspiring cultural change, and building out of capabilities across the CIO organization.

We are seeking passionate thought leaders that are able to drive transformational change within OPG. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Grow, develop, and execute the analytics and decision intelligence strategies and roadmaps aligned to strategic business goals and growth priorities.
  • Develop, manage, and provide technical leadership to analytics and decision intelligence resources, teams and processes.
  • Support the establishment of standards, processes, and governance to support capabilities within IT and across all business units.
  • Manage, monitor and support the progress of the various ongoing initiatives using exploratory data analysis, data analysis, proof of concepts, experimentation and decision making techniques.
  • Develop innovative solutions and improve the efficiency of existing business processes with a focus on providing business benefits.
  • Drive positive and strategic changes within the organization using a mastery of data storytelling and relationship-building.
  • Nurture data and decision quality through driving continuous improvements to Data Governance strategy.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders and the Data Lake team to build instrumentation and data models that provide actionable insight into business processes.
  • Manage a balanced portfolio of growth projects that span innovative and disruptive initiatives and ensure continuous cadence and delivery.
  • Manage and grow an Analytics and Decision Intelligence Center of Excellence to provide expertise, delivery of use cases, and supporting the business.
  • Drive continuous improvement, best practices, data literacy, and a data-informed organization culture

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's Degree/College Diploma in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or a related discipline

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential with a strong understanding of statistical analysis, data mining, machine learning, and other analytical techniques. Proficiency in tools such as Python, SQL, PowerBI and other data visualization tools.
  • Experience in developing decision models, optimization techniques, and decision support systems. Knowledge of decision theory, predictive modeling, and prescriptive analytics.
  • Effectively transform business problems into analytical questions and provide data-driven insights to support decision-making at various levels of the organization.
  • Ability to communicate complex analytical concepts and findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Exhibit strategic thinking abilities, including the ability to align data analytics and decision intelligence initiatives with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to plan and execute projects, manage resources, and meet deadlines.
  • A continuous learner who is forever curious and seeks to innovate, challenge the status quo, and exceed expectations.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills and broad conceptual, diagnostic and analytical skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address and overcome current and future challenges; ability to reach well-grounded, independent conclusions and influence outcomes.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a flexible hybrid office environment
