Role

We are looking for a collaborative, motivated and creative individual who can lead a team delivers high-quality information that will impact child care programs and services by providing support in managing data analytics, including data collection, data analysis and interpretation, data visualization, data modelling, forecasting and reporting writing.
Reporting to the Director, PIEPM, the Child Care Data Analysis and Reporting Manager is responsible for managing statistical analysis and reporting for wide-ranging audience target groups within Children's Services. This position is also expected to complete a combination of data and trend analysis, environmental scanning, foresight and other research activities working with a variety of internal and external partners. To support planning and policy development processes, the Manager leads the data analysis team in ensuring forward-looking research and trend analysis are conducted consistently and presented in insightful and easy-to-understand formats. This position will provide strategic direction, advice and specialized support related to the annual research/data plan, data analyses, strategic intelligence reports, visual representations and other information products as determined.
The Manager works within a team environment to provide intelligence for strategic and business planning and evidence-based decision-making. This position ensures that sound research methods and approaches are used and ensures that stakeholder needs are identified and addressed. The Manager promotes the use of quality assurance and continuous improvement best-practices and encourages proactive sharing of results and analytical information.
This position manages two data analysts and two senior data analysts and will lead the ministry through the transition from legacy reporting systems to new technology. The manager will do this through their strong strategical thinking skills and ability to anticipate stakeholder needs and innovate future reporting.

Qualifications
University graduation in a related field (such as, but not limited to Social Sciences, Business, Public Administration, Economics or Statistics) combined with a minimum of six years’ progressively related experience is required. Related experience or education may be considered as an equivalency on a one for one basis.
- Experience must include demonstrated experience leading and managing data analytics, including data collection, data analysis and interpretation, data visualization, data modelling and reporting writing.
- Experience in Microsoft Excel, PowerBI and SQL are required
- Experience with ARC GIS, Power Query and Microsoft SRS Report Builder are assets
Related experience or education may be considered as an equivalency on a one for one basis.
Preferences:
- Master’s degree
- Demonstrated experience in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, statistical analysis methods, statistical modelling, forecasting and socio-economic research.
- Background and training in data science

Salary
$3,062.51 to $4,121.25 bi-weekly: ($79,931 to $107,564/ year)

Hours of Work
36.25 hours per week (full time) Monday to Friday, 8:15am to 4:30pm
