Data Manager
Seeking qualified individuals to join our team of analysts supporting Federal government clients. The successful candidate will have a proven track record performing quantitative analysis to support decision making.

Location Washington DC or Remote
- If the candidate lives in DC area we are currently under a hybrid work model, which is a minimum 2 days a week in the office.
The salary range of $75,000 - $94,000 will be based on technical experience and technical interview.
- Hiring company provides 10% bonus each year
Experience supporting the Dept. of Veterans Affairs preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the data manager supporting a team of senior economists, statisticians, and policy analysts
- Perform research and analysis tasks to support SAG projects for federal and state governments
- Perform data collection, cleaning and formatting data for analysis, sampling data for review, statistical modeling, literature review, and compiling findings for reporting purposes
- Develop an understanding of Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) operations, policies, and data.
- Serve as the primary interface with the client, leading calls and preparing presentations and reports for clients
- Out of area travel is minimal;
Skills:
- Proven working experience as a data analyst or business data analyst
- Familiarity or comfort with reviewing claims data
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to serve as the project point of contact, leading client calls and presentations
- Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets
Required Qualifications:
- Direct experience supporting VA as an employee or contractor in an analytical role.
- Familiarity with VA data systems, including the Enterprise Data Warehouse and the Corporate Data Warehouse.
- BA/BS in economics, mathematics, or related fields with strong quantitative background; an advanced working knowledge of MS Excel; experience with econometric or statistical modeling; and demonstrated strong writing skills
- 5+ years of experience (which may include academic experience) performing qualitative and/or quantitative analysis, overseeing day-to-day management of project tasks and preparing presentations and reports for clients
- Previous academic and/or work experience performing qualitative or quantitative analysis
- Ability to review data spreadsheets, universe, and sampling data, to identify issues and anomalies in data
- Working knowledge of MS Office-Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Preferred qualifications include:
- Master's degree in economics, mathematics, or related field with strong quantitative background
- Programming experience with data analysis software, including SAS and SQL, or Stata and R
- Authorized to work in the U.S. indefinitely without sponsorship;
- Ability to obtain a public trust position.
