Joining the AA as a Data Insights Analyst, you’ll use advanced mathematical and analytical methods to help the business solve problems and make better decisions within our Roadside Operations business area. Collectively as a team, you will provide comprehensive management information, analytics, and business modelling service to contribute towards the overall Operations of our Roadside business.

We are looking for someone with a pro-active approach and the ability to bring forward new ideas, insight, and analysis above and beyond what has been requested.

What will I be doing?

  • Develop sophisticated decision support systems to aid strategic and tactical decision making
  • Design and run presentations and training courses regarding new computer models to ensure all management and staff are conversant with all aspects of new systems and providing on-going support to users
  • Develop simulation and general business models to assist with the identification of inefficiencies and make recommendations for improvement of business performance
  • Initiate projects to assess business performance and suggest proposals for changes in working practices to senior management and play a major part in the implementation process
  • Provide comprehensive analytical service to all levels of management; identifying trends, highlighting problem areas, and recommend solutions to improve business performance
  • Review reporting of all management information and statistical analysis produced to ensure that it meets customer requirements and recommending changes to ensure insight meets the changing needs of the business

What do I need?

Essential:

  • Current experience of gathering and analysing data with knowledge of various data modelling techniques and methodologies i.e., machine learning, statistical modelling, optimisation etc.
  • An educational degree either in Mathematics, Science, Statistics, or another related subject
  • Technical awareness/experience with databases and SQL, R/Python or SAS with a strong analytical problem-solving mindset
  • Confident to not only gather and analyse but also present findings to stakeholders at all levels including Senior Leaders, Executives and Directors to convert complex data into being user friendly
  • Naturally business, and commercial savvy with a proactive ‘results orientated’ approach
