The role
- Generate insights from data to increase sales & marketing effectiveness. This may include segmentation, customer profiling, behavioural analysis, customer value analysis, market sizing, opportunity identification, demand modelling, portfolio, product & customer performance analytics, acquisition pipeline, churn and marketing campaign analysis
- Create data dashboards, visualisations and reports to effectively communicate data insights to stakeholders
- Extract and join data to create large datasets that can be mined and analysed for customer insight
- Set up, maintain and clearly document automated data processes to ensure a pipeline of regularly refreshed data for analysis
- Support the Data Analytics Lead in establishing & embedding best practises for data, analytics & insight across LR Group, acting as a key stakeholder for the IT team as they develop the technology roadmap for insight
- Support the Data Analytics Lead in developing the new customer analytics capability for LR to support data-driven decision making and business growth
What you bring
- Proven working experience as an insight or data analyst
- Expertise and experience of dashboard design/data visualisation (preferably in Power BI)
- Strong knowledge of and experience in database management and data wrangling
- Extensive practical experience using statistical techniques to deliver actionable insights; building & implementing models to solve business problems; programming using SQL, R, Python or similar; data management & governance to minimise risk. Desirable: knowledge and prior experience using machine learning, data mining and other statistical techniques in a data science role
- The ability to analyse, model and interpret data clearly for a range of stakeholders
- Strong commercial understanding
- Enthusiastic and curious, passionate about insight
- Degree or equivalent from a tertiary organisation recognised by Lloyd’s Register, preferably in a numerical field. Masters or other advanced qualification in a quantitative discipline desirable but not essential
