Summary/Objective

The Data Entry Clerk is responsible for data entry and verification of all fish information into company electronic recordkeeping systems.

Essential Functions

  • Retrieves data from manual written sources and enters into electronic spreadsheets and systems daily.
  • Verifies information between systems is correct.
  • Uses data entry equipment to record assigned data.
  • Resolves minor processing problems; seeks assistance from supervisor or other appropriate staff for issues beyond immediate expertise.
  • Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Learns systems and becomes proficient in GoFish and Excel.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent and precise data entry and typing skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to keep information confidential.
  • Ability to work independently.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position does not involve supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Work Environment:

  • This job operates in an office environment. The position includes the use of office equipment including phones, computer, fax, copier, and the ability to help others with this equipment.
  • Physical Demands
  • This role requires walking, lifting, bending and standing. This position requires sitting for the majority of the shift. This position requires the ability to lift up to 20 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

  • This position is full-time, 30-40 hours per week.

Travel

  • This position may require local travel for training.

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Some data entry experience preferred.
  • MS Office experience with Excel experience preferred.
