About the role
Our success is driven by our people. We are seeking an experienced Staff Data Engineer who is passionate about creating the future through data. Harnessing your experience in data pipelines and software development, you will be part of a modern data engineering team that revolutionizes how our customers view data. Alongside the data engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering data to power the diverse needs of our customers - enabling them to better understand their data’s complex relationships by delivering high-impact data products that drive change. This is a hybrid role – 2-3 days per week in office is preferred.
What you'll do
- Work with great people who share your passion.
- Build large-scale batch and real-time data pipelines.
- Design, program and test data pipelines.
- Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional requirements.
- Work closely with stakeholders to create market-leading innovations that transform security.
- Mentor more junior data developers in good techniques, patterns, processes and practices.
- Peer review other team members’ code, and learn and adapt from peer review of your own code.
What you'll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent degree/experience.
- 3+ years working in a data engineering role; 5+ years in software development.
- An intellectual curiosity with a genuine desire to learn new data tools/methods, and are abreast with the latest trends in data.
- You are comfortable building ETL/ELT flows that extract data from various systems.
- You have a good understanding of data engineering best practices (batch data processing, streaming, distributed compute engines, dimensional modeling, etc.).
- Strong competency in either Spark or PostgreSQL.
- Background in the following: Python and SQL.
- You are comfortable engaging in data architecture and design discussions.
- Experience on cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure).
- Experience using orchestration tools such as Airflow.
- Understanding of distributed system architecture (k8s).
- Understanding of network technologies (ex, proxy, LB, firewall, traffic steering etc.).
- Experience in data security and data privacy aspects are desirable.

Compensation range: $130,000 - $165,000. Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level.
