We are looking for Data Engineers for a large programme of work within the Energy and Utilities sector. The Data Engineers will be primarily responsible for, while working with the Test Data Architect, support the provision Test Data.
Responsibilities:- Support the Test Data Architect with defining and implementing the strategy around data governance, data integrity, data privacy and security.
- Support the Test Data Architect in ensuring that test data is specified centrally and prepared and allocated to 100's of suppliers who will be using the central systems to conduct their testing.
- Conduct the checking, cleansing and augmentation of the test data for the industry wide SIT Test
- Phase:
- Repeat for each of the 6 SIT CIT Intervals, plus SIT Functional Testing, plus SIT Migration Testing, plus SIT Non-Functional Testing, plus SIT Operational Testing
- Implement the transport of the augmented data back to appropriate Industry Programme participants for the industry wide SIT Test Phase:
- Repeat for each of the 6 SIT CIT Intervals, plus SIT Functional Testing, plus SIT Migration Testing, plus SIT Non-Functional Testing, plus SIT Operational Testing
- For Non-SIT LDSO Testing:
- Conduct the checking, cleansing and augmentation of the test data.
- Implement the transport of the augmented data back to appropriate Industry Programme participants.
- For Qualification Testing:
- Conduct the checking, cleansing and augmentation of the test data.
- Implement the transport of the augmented data back to appropriate Industry Programme participants.
- Support the Test Data Architect in drafting Test Documentation for:
- Overall Test Data Approach and Plan
- CIT Test Data Approach and Plan
- SIT Functional Test Data Approach and Plan
- SIT Migration Test Data Approach and Plan
- SIT Non-Functional Test Data Approach and Plan
- SIT Operational Test Data Approach and Plan
- Sandbox Test Data Approach and Plan
- Provide support for Industry Testing Test Data queries, to ensure Programme Test Phase delivery remains on track
- Supporting Test Assurance conducted by programme.
- Bachelors or Masters degree in a relevant discipline (Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Maths, Data Analysis etc)
- Excellent Technical understanding of the UK Energy and Utilities Sector
- Good client-facing skills, experience in developing partnerships with the team and client and collaborating with others to exceed client expectations.
- Excellent communication skills, adapts style accordingly and demonstrates an understanding of the audience’s perspective.
- A technical background
- Good self-management – continuous performance is both an objective and a mind-set
- Experience previous Data Engineer experience
- Platform: Microsoft Azure
- 5+ years of experience in Data Analysis/Query using SQL
- 3+ years of experience with No-SQL databases, specifically Microsoft Cosmos DB
- Experience with Data analysis in large-scale, corporate or industrial environments.
- Experience with programming languages for Data Analysis. Desirable: Python or R.
- Experience with Reporting tools.
- Understanding and experience with complex technical/data issues
- Experience of test data management and understanding GDPR legislation.
- Ability to travel across the UK is advantaegous
