If you're passionate about driving real change in a market by building data infrastructure to support AI developments that will help millions, you could be our next Data Engineer! You will execute the design of the AI Senior Data Scientist by developing and maintaining the model for the successful implementation and operation of AI projects within a specific department of the organization.
What You'll Do
- Data Infrastructure: Implement scalable and efficient data infrastructure to support AI and machine learning initiatives, including data ingestion, storage, processing, and retrieval systems.
- Data Pipeline: Work with the BI team to ensure availability of robust data pipelines to collect, clean, transform, and integrate data from various sources while maintaining data quality, integrity, and consistency throughout the pipeline.
- Data Modeling: Design and implement data models that ensure efficient data storage and retrieval. Define data schemas, tables, indexes, and relationships to support data analysis and application requirements.
- Data Governance and Security: Implement data governance practices and ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations. Develop and maintain data access controls, encryption mechanisms, and data retention policies.
- Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor and optimize systems for performance, scalability, and reliability. Identify and resolve bottlenecks, latency issues, and other performance-related challenges. Work with the application team on required changes or new data points if needed.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with key stakeholders and teams to understand data requirements, prioritize tasks, and deliver solutions that meet business objectives.
Education, Work-Experience, and Other Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field. Strong understanding of AI and machine learning is preferred.
- 2+ years of proven experience in AI initiatives and projects in a corporate environment.
- Must maintain clean background/drug screenings and driving record.
- Ability to regularly travel to HQ in Colombia.
Expertise Needed
- Spanish language capability is a plus.
- Strong programming skills with proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala. Experience with SQL for data querying and manipulation and knowledge of data processing frameworks.
- Strong understanding of engineering concepts, including data modeling, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and data integration.
- Solid understanding of machine learning and AI concepts.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++, along with experience in using AI libraries and frameworks.
- Experience in developing and deploying AI models in applications
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and distributed computing frameworks is a plus.
- Strong business acumen and ability to align AI strategies with organizational objectives.
- Understanding of how changing regulatory (healthcare and general) requirements affect developing AI initiatives.
- Understanding of data governance, privacy, and security best practices.
- Continuous-learning mindset to stay updated with advancements in AI and potential business applications.
